Society
look up to knowledge...
Believe it or not,
MBAs potentially
earn an astonishing RM1.5m more then their colleagues within a
working career period of 20 years. Of cause, where the MBA is from
does make a lot of difference. Don't just sign up for an MBA program
because it is cheap or simple. You will have to imaging the effort
and time that you will have to
commit.
Your deciding factor should always be
prioritized by the reputation of the university and its program.
Many of my friends have MBAs but what makes the different between one
person to another? It is the ability they possess from their MBAs.
It is the skills and experience they learned from their program.
And that determines their ability to command a higher remuneration.
In reality there is much greater demand
for MBAs in our local job market today as compared to a decade ago.
Corporations are willing to pay the extra for managerial skills.
As the economy moves closer towards advance country status by year 2020,
the demand for exceptional managerial skills and experiences will
triple. It is absolutely the best time for you to go for an MBA
course and earn yourself the right to be part of the driving force for
the nations progress.

How Could You
Benefit with an MBA?
From an income point of view, statistics show that on average a person
with an MBA will start
off at about 12% more then someone with a basic degree.
10% more each month for one year is 120% and for a continuous 10 years
that would make a very large sum.
Other than that
you could gain valuable knowledge and experience.
When I was doing my MBA I selected the classes that was
very well balance between numbers of fulltime and
part-time students. Knowledge, we can
learn from the class assignments and library sessions
but experience can only be taught by your fellow
classmates who are actually working executives.
The part-timers brings with them to the class, wealth of
real life working experiences that many MBA students
have yet to feel.
Further to that, such topics as
analytical, managerial and
leadership skills are essential skills that is so very important in
corporate leaders today. Within a short time in the MBA
program you will learn so much that took some people a whole lifetime to
learn and create. Presentation and public speaking skill were
another area where MBAs show their talent. For, during the tenure
of their program MBAs must perform as if they are in real corporate
life.
Reading and
analyzing
financial reports is one essential element that a basic
degree holder lacks in contrast to the MBA.
The tools that you learn in an MBA dictates the quality
of the MBA program. Even during my university days
in United States there were a lot of so called diploma
mills conferring all kinds of degree. And they
were selling the exact copy of the genuine diploma just
minus the transcript. Not surprising though, a lot
of Malaysians have the MBA initials behind their names.
Some even go as far as the doctorial degree.
The
MBA if earned
from a real university program, brings the best out of
the person. The experience gained from the
research, analysis and reports improve on the total
managerial skill that will only happen if the
project is conducted on an individual basis. To
explore deeper into this topic, only with the expert
guidance of the teaching staff that the whole project
can be conducted with the quality and expectation of a
MBA candidate.
There are also certain elements in life
that we gained from the MBA program but not from the theories or
practical sessions. These are call discipline and commitment.
This two elements can only be created though working on your projects
like thesis and assignments. You will be able to build confidence
and trust amongst your colleagues, customers and friends.
| |
|
Albert,
You are so right about
taking the course with the correct attitude and
expectations. I have learned to help others achieve
their financial desires, would not be able to do so
without the knowledge and skills. In
the MBA course I not only learned theories but the
practical experience was |

invaluable. It has opened up

selecting an MBA path. |

So, what are the key indicators for an MBA program most
suitable to a busy
executive?
To start you off on the
right note. MBA program is not for everyone, so
don't kid yourself. You need to posses certain
qualities yourself. Like, maturity, positive
mindset, commit to learning, open to sharing, dedicate
some time for education and also ability to accept
stress.
There is definitely the
requirement to be able to
spend at least 5
to 10 hours per week on your assignments, group
discussions and projects. And another 10 hours of
class work per week. That is what I call
commitment and discipline. But despite all these
initial challenges, many busy people have successfully
earned their MBA in a part-time basis.
Your
priority when
seeking an MBA course is the element of reputation.
Do not need to be the best or top
university. All top university, to maintain their
good record requires the student to do a lot of research
work, just like Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge.
If you find that it is a top university, likelihood,
they will not have off campus part-time programs in
Malaysia. So, a top five to top ten will do.
Price point is
usually the deciding factor for many MBA course seekers
because many will enroll into a program base on their
personal affordability. I would like to
warn you on this point. The cheapest does not mean
it is the most suitable for you yet. Most cheap
stuff comes with defects one way or other. In a
cheap program there may be hidden cost or it is cheap
because of compromise to quality. Even worst if
the program is run by a private institution for profit
gains, how low can they go without giving up on
something.
If it is too expensive,
it may not be affordable to you. These programs
which are franchise from UK universities are usually run
at higher tuition fees than local ones but they have
quality and reputation. So you not only pays for
education but also for quality and reputation.
Your best considerations would be the ones that are the
in betweens.
Not too
expensive but reputable.
Course work is
another element in which you should consider.
There are those that is base on assignments only that
should be your lowest priority. The best choices
would base on both course work and assignments.
Coursework means taking an exam to gauge your ability.
The reputable ones usually requires exams and thesis.
These is actually a plus point to many MBAs because it
is through the research and exams that you will learn
the most.
But most MBA courses tend to have similar
preferences to the core subjects. The emphasis are usually on
management, marketing, research methods and finance. In fact in
the real working environment, a manager is to have these basic knowledge
to analyze and make decisions.
Are entrance requirements very stringent in MBA programs?
MBA is a managerial qualification, its
all about learning leadership. Majority of the MBA programs in
Malaysia requires the candidate to posses certain amount of academic
qualifications, at least at the 'A' levels or a diploma couple with a
period of working experience. But there are situations
where MBA can be pursued direct from a basic degree without working
experience, usually for students who continue into the MBA straight
after completing their bachelors within the same university.

Simply Affordable
Foreign Reputable MBA in Malaysia for Working
Executives... |

affordable. Thanks for
you sincere guidance. You have motivated me to seek for
more greatness. |
|
|
I am only comparing reputable university
entrance requirements. The diploma mills have much questionable
requirements. UK MBA programs do not require GMAT or GRE as
entrance qualifications but the others such as American Degree Programs
that is the basic requirement with a basic degree. You could take
a few months to prepare for the GRE/GMAT exams, that itself will take so
much of your time.
When you put in your enrollment
application it is necessary that the decision comes from the university
where the degree is being offered and not those that process their
application locally. You want the application process to be done
in the university itself so that you will have a permanent student
record in the university's database. That helps a lot when you are
going through a job interview later on in your career.
The tight entrance requirement that each
university sets are different from the other. But whatever it is,
that is your benefit in the future. You will appreciate that you
have earned an MBA not through some simple scheme but put in the time
and effort necessary to complete all course requirements.
Work experience are not a prerequisite to
transfer for credit hours. But it can help in your application
tremendously. Some of the top universities in the world consider
working experience as a vital element in gaining entry to an MBA course.
Many of us after having work for years
stop thinking of pursuing a better lifestyle, a better income or even
advancement in our careers because we put too much obstacles in front of
us. We make too many excuses why we can not go forward to pursue
our life dreams. It so much less hassle today to pursue an MBA
degree today compared to the time I took my MBA. My word of advice
is, go for it! You will never know.

Which
is the BEST Choice Foreign MBA in Malaysia?
First of all, I would like to say this, I
have an MBA already and do not intent to pursue another MBA?
Besides that I am doing rather great with the things I have learned from
my MBA. So, I am speaking freely on my own accord without bias or
favor.
I am an individual with my own opinion,
you do not have to take my words for the truth. In fact I don't
care if you do not take my advices because it makes no difference to me.
I just want to share what I know and maybe you will have a better
understanding to go about looking for the best MBA course.
I am a volunteer in many ways to help humanity
and the poor. But my philosophy in life is to help as many people
as possible to become richer first, then poverty will decline. If
we were to focus on helping the poor, chances are there are going to be
a lot of poor people for a long time. So, lets make people richer,
in health, in wealth, in knowledge and in happiness. This is one
for positive mindset.
As I was saying, I dedicated some of my
time giving my sharing of experience back to society and find it most
gratifying when I am being thank for my sharing.

To help you to make sound decisions in
choosing an MBA course I have the following suggestion. I am not giving
any recommendation base on specific reasons but you have to gauge it from your own
point of view. Your goals and needs comes first, the best
choice foreign MBA course should be based on the followings,
- Recognized locally - must have
certain rating
- The university has a physical
location and should be populated by real students.
- The degree that the MBA candidates
earned is similar and conferred by the university
- Very affordable for Malaysian
executives, not the highest nor is it the cheapest
- High quality teaching staff, 80%
Ph.D. holders and approved by the university board
- Assignment and exam base
- Weekend classes for working adults
- The local franchise only focuses on
the MBA program
- The quality of the program.
Value for your money
- An approved EPF education withdrawal
scheme
- MBA course approved and accredited by Ministry of
Higher Education
- The MBA course is conducted through
sit in classes.
- A mature student program, very good
mix of fresh and experience students
- There must be facilities available
for research and project such as library and discussion rooms.
- Situated outside the KL business
district, so convenient and conducive for studying
